A New Era for Local Government in Delta State
Today, I had the honor of swearing in the newly elected council chairmen and their vice at the Dome Event Centre in Asaba, marking a significant milestone in the history of Delta State. Despite the heavy rain, the people of Delta State came out in force to exercise their democratic right, and I extend my heartfelt appreciation to them for their participation. .

The election was a resounding success, thanks to the efforts of the security agencies and the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC), who ensured a seamless and peaceful voting process.
As I charged the newly elected chairmen, I urged them to prioritize the needs and aspirations of the people, delivering good governance and working collaboratively with their vice, the legislative arm, and other stakeholders. I emphasized the importance of fiscal discipline, prudent management, and judicious allocation of resources, encouraging them to embrace modesty and shun wasteful spending.
This new era for local government in Delta State presents an opportunity for transformative leadership and service to the people. I congratulate the chairmen and their vice on this momentous occasion and look forward to working together to build a brighter future for our great state.
