Linus Williams, popularly known as BLord, recently launched a new estate of 140 plots and the first batch of 30 plots were all sold out in 3 days.
Each plot was sold for N15 million. Some of his crypto friends even paid with Bitcoin.
Earlier last week, I was just speaking with a client who said he needed a plot of land in Amansea, Awka; but when I finally got one for him, it was above his budget.
Somehow, I decided to recommend another estate to him in Ebenebe that was within his budget but he turned it down.
For him, it’s either Amansea or nothing. I didn’t bother trying to convince him further because I believe that real estate investing decision is not something anyone should use marketing gimmicks to get you to do.
Doctors don’t beg patients to come to the hospital. Lawyers don’t beg clients to come to their chamber. Pilots don’t beg passengers to fly with them. Why should I, a real estate investor, beg another person to invest in real estate? Am I the one that will reap the benefits of the investment?
It’s a rare privilege for me to tell someone to invest in real estate and even go the extra mile to verify the authenticity of the company and property on behalf of the person.
At the time I recommended the estate at Ebenebe, I never knew that BLord was going to launch a luxury estate in the same neighborhood last week.
When I saw the update, I copied the link and sent it to him. Hopefully, he sees how much of a good investment getting a property there would be. Interestingly, I already did the background checks for him.
If you are a realtor, learn to use anchors and marketing angles when marketing your business. It will help you pierce through the objection barriers your prospects stacked up in the past so you can reach the decision-making spot in their heart. Most clients are flexible enough to follow your recommendations. Don’t lose them because of your poor marketing skills.
And if you are a real estate investor like me, be fast to spot opportunities. How fast your investment portfolio will grow will be grossly determined by how early you enter the market every single time.
You won’t know most people have money until a new Ponzi scheme shows up. That’s when they quickly remember how powerful entering the “market” early is. Don’t be like them.
It doesn’t matter the city you want to invest in, find out where the attention is moving to and purchase as many properties as you can there. But don’t do it with your business capital.
