Leaders and stakeholders of the Owhe Clan in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State have unanimously endorsed the member representing Isoko North/Isoko South Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was the highlight of a grand reception held in honour of the lawmaker on Wednesday at Otibio Grammar School, Otor-Igho. The well-attended event drew a large turnout of political leaders, community stakeholders, and supporters from across the Isoko nation.
Speaking on behalf of the Owhe political leadership, Chief Sam Egwerome, Chief John Araka, and Dr. Patrick Akporuno emphasized the need for continuity in representation, citing Ukodhiko’s impactful performance at the National Assembly.
They noted that his re-election would ensure the sustenance of ongoing developmental initiatives across the constituency.
Also speaking, the President-General of Owhe Communities and Chairman of the Owhe PG Forum, Dr. Israel Adaigho, said the Owhe people were united in their support for the lawmaker.
He stressed the importance of consolidating on the gains already recorded, noting that Ukodhiko has demonstrated commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
According to him, the endorsement reflects the collective will of the people to sustain inclusive and development-driven representation.
The event featured goodwill messages and endorsements from various wards within the clan. Representing Otor-Owhe/Akiewhe Ward, Chief John Araka and Engr. Blessing Ugoh declared their support, while Chief Elvis Ovie and Comrade Lucky Okumu spoke on behalf of Owhelogbo Ward. Elder P.C. Onaibre delivered remarks for Otibio Ward, all aligning with the call for Ukodhiko’s re-election.
Similarly, members of the Owhe President-Generals’ Forum, including Engr. Wilfred Atunu and Barr. Morrison Iluesure, alongside other community leaders, reiterated their backing, describing Ukodhiko as a worthy ambassador of the Owhe people.
The motion for adoption of the endorsement was moved by the President-General of Akiewhe Community and seconded by Hon. Goodluck Obiaro, President-General of Aziaro Community. It was subsequently adopted through a voice vote, signaling overwhelming support from the gathering.
Responding through his representative, Dr. Patrick Akporuno, Rep. Ukodhiko expressed appreciation to the Owhe people for the endorsement and the confidence reposed in him.
He pledged to continue to represent the interests of the Isoko nation diligently and to build on existing achievements if re-elected.
The reception was described by the Owhe political class as a strategic gathering aimed at strengthening political cohesion within the clan while rallying support for Ukodhiko’s continued representation.
The event also witnessed an impressive turnout of prominent personalities from across the clan. From the Otor-Owhe/Akiewhe axis, notable attendees included Chief John Araka, Hon. Richard Isagba, Lawson Efenude, Chief Oscar Oletu, Sunday Omaduvie, Ovie Oveh, Hon. Daniel Tutumor, Blessing Ugoh, Joseph Onoyemeakpor (Brimax), Comrade John Onovreke, Omagu Henrietta, and Barr. Israel Ekperuru.
Stakeholders from Otibio Ward were equally well represented, with Chief Sam Egwerome, Engr. Festus Akponovo, Engr. Peter Undunwa, Chief P.C. Onaibre, Hon. Christopher Ugoh, Mr. Sam Igbrude, Comrade Lucky Ejele, and Hon. Agbaza Emmanuel in attendance.
In Owhelogbo, the turnout underscored the community’s strong political engagement, as Chief Matthias Ujiri Otobo, Elder Elvis Ovie, Hon. Francis Ughegbe, Engr. James Ighota, Engr. Jacob Ogrih, Comrade Eddy Okumor, Dr. Mrs. Mimi Igbrude, Ven. Robert Oziwele, and Benedict Ulebe were present.
Also in attendance were councillors representing Owhelogbo, Otibio, and Akiewhe, further demonstrating the grassroots strength of the gathering.
The forum of Presidents-General (PGs) of Owhe Clan communities formed a significant part of the event, led by Dr. Israel Adaigho. Other PGs present included Barr. Morrison Iluesure (Owhelogbo), Comrade David Ujorode (Eniagbedhi), Engr. Wilfred Atunu (Otor-Owhe), Sir Reuben Okuevo (Ekreze), Hon. Herbert Erah (Akiewhe), Venerable Tutumor (Edhomoko), Hon. Goodluck Obiaro (Igbuku), Engr. Monday Omamegho (Otibio), Rev. Sunday Atoma (Atoma), and Comrade Samuel Macauley (Erawha-Owhe).
Dignitaries at the event included Rt. Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Okoro, Dr. Barr. Paul Oweh, Chairman of the Delta State Hospital Management Board, Hon. Chief Joe Arausi, Hon. Christian Iteire, Chief Emmanuel Edevor, Chairman of Ozoro Council of Chiefs, Comrade Ake Esime, NULGE Chairman, Councillors from Owhe clan and several other prominent personalities.
The large turnout of political leaders, community heads, and stakeholders from across Owhe Clan highlighted a united front and growing consensus within the kingdom on the need for sustained leadership and development-focused representation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
