The Delta State Director of Protocol, Chief Sunday Onoriode, has called on Christians across the state and beyond to reflect deeply on the true essence of Easter by emulating the life and virtues of Jesus Christ.
In his Easter message, Chief Onoriode noted that Jesus Christ, despite His divine nature and heavenly glory, humbly embraced suffering and ultimately sacrificed His life for the redemption of mankind.
He stressed that this profound act of love, selflessness, and obedience remains the foundation of the Christian faith.
According to him, Nigeria and the global society at large would witness greater peace, unity, and progress if Christians consciously imbibe and practice the core values exemplified by Christ; love, sacrifice, humility, and compassion.
He urged believers to take advantage of the solemnity of the Easter season to engage in heartfelt prayers and supplications, seeking God’s mercy, guidance, and intervention in both personal and national affairs.
“Easter is the very essence of our identity as Christians. It reminds us not only of Christ’s sacrifice but also of the responsibilities that come with our faith, the duty to love one another, to care for the vulnerable, and to be our brother’s keeper,” he said.
Chief Onoriode further extended warm greetings to Christians across the world, wishing them a joyful and spiritually fulfilling Easter celebration.
“On behalf of my family, I congratulate all Christians around the world on this sacred occasion. It is my earnest prayer that as we celebrate the resurrection of our Christ Jesus, may your hearts be filled with renewed Hope and your homes with Joy, Peace and Happiness.”
“May the spiritual significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ continue to inspire and transform our lives, homes, and communities for the better,” he added.
