ASAGBA OF ASABA PERFORMS FOUNDATION LAYING FOR ASAGBA PALACE EVENT CENTRE AND LIBRARY,RECEIVES KEYS TO ASAGBA PALACE MUSEUM BUILT AND DONATED BY OGBUESHI TONY NDAH.


His Royal Majesty, the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, has performed the foundation laying ceremony for the proposed Asagba Palace Event Centre and Asagba Palace Library as part of ongoing efforts to preserve the cultural heritage and institutional legacy of the Asaba Kingdom.


The revered monarch also officially received the keys to the newly completed Asagba Palace Museum, a landmark project generously donated by Ogbueshi Tony Ndah through the Tony Ndah Foundation in support of cultural preservation and historical development within the kingdom.


Speaking during the ceremony, the Asagba expressed profound appreciation to Ogbueshi Tony Ndah for what he described as a remarkable act of generosity and commitment to the advancement of Asaba. He praised the donor as a worthy son of the soil, noting that the museum project would remain a lasting legacy in the annals of Asaba history.


The monarch also commended sons and daughters of Asaba for their continuous support and contributions towards the ongoing palace development projects, urging them not to relent in their collective commitment to building a greater Asaba Kingdom.


Demonstrating personal commitment to the development of the palace infrastructure, HRM Prof. Azinge pledged to personally fund the construction of the Asagba Palace Event Centre, assuring the community that the project would be completed and commissioned by September 2026.


He further disclosed that Emmanuel Odiaka would single-handedly sponsor the construction of the Asagba Palace Library as well as the redesigning of the palace fence.


Providing an update on the palace development projects, Nna Agu stated that the Administrative Building had reached about 90 percent completion, while work was progressing steadily on the main palace structure.


In separate goodwill messages, Obi Agbogidi Iweka Enem and Chief Prof. Mrs. Anene Okeakwa (Ogoamaka Ahaba) described Asaba as blessed to have a monarch with vision, determination, and passion for rapid community development. They also applauded Ogbueshi Tony Ndah for his magnanimity and unwavering support towards the growth of the kingdom.


Similarly, Chief Newton Jibunoh, Olinzele Ahaba designate, commended the Asagba for his exemplary leadership and lauded Ogbueshi Tony Ndah for building what he described as a world-class museum capable of preserving and revitalizing the cultural heritage of Asaba Kingdom.


Chief Jibunoh, who built Nigeria’s first personal museum over four decades ago, also pledged to donate selected artworks to the Asagba Palace Museum in support of the community’s cultural preservation efforts.
