POWERING EDUCATION: Godfrey Tare Pondi Foundation Launches School Renovation, ICT Programme in Kurutie

The Godfrey Tare Pondi Educational Foundation has announced a major educational intervention project aimed at improving learning conditions and promoting digital education in Kurutie Community.

The programme, scheduled for May 27 to 29, 2026, will feature renovation of classrooms, playground upgrades, and repairs of damaged school roofs to create safer and more conducive learning environments for pupils and teachers.

The Foundation will also organise a teachers’ seminar and capacity development programme focused on modern teaching methods, leadership development, and professional growth.

As part of the intervention, educational materials including textbooks, writing materials, school uniforms, and sandals will be distributed to students, while desktop computers will be donated to support digital learning and ICT access in schools.

The initiative will further see the launch of a six-month ICT training programme in June 2026 to equip students and community members with practical computer and digital skills.

According to the Foundation, the project reflects the vision of Chief Godfrey Tare Pondi in advancing education, youth empowerment, and community development across the Niger Delta.
